Wow! Our Torero blend has just won THREE STARS at the 2021 Great Taste Awards! What a result! The judges LOVED it and gave it the highest award possible, three gold stars! This is what they said about it:

Torero.

“Balanced. Fruity with cherries and a basketful of red fruits that fill the mouth in a glorious fashion. Clever roasting – all separately, all the same level of roast. This delivers perfect balance and a long, long finish and when milk was added, we found ourselves transported to coffee heaven. Such skilled blending into a coffee that will always please.”

“There’s an excellent light touch here with the different profiles working well together to produce a delicious, light fruity note. Milk rounds off all the flavours beautifully.”

What an amazing accolade. We couldn’t have written better ourselves if we tried!

The Great Taste Awards, run by the Guild of Fine Foods in the UK are the most coveted in food in this part of the world. They had more than 14,000 entries this year and only 218 products out of 14,000 were awarded the three star top award. We are naturally delighted with this result and very happy to join the ranks of the top award winners.

We’ve won two star awards before for Jaggy Loko and Sweet Sorrento we won a one star award for High Segovia this year but the three star award is very special. To win three stars, everything has to be just right about the product. It’s a sign that every element of our process is working as it should. To win three stars, every part and process needs to be right. Everything from sourcing, purchasing, storage, handling, roasting, blending, packaging and delivery. Every single element has to be just right. It’s a great testament to the Greenbean team that every stage of the process is working perfectly and the end result is a coffee blend as special as Torero, that’s good enough to win this great accolade.

High Segovia also won a Great Taste Award. The judges praised the “lovely inviting aroma” and “thick crema” saying it was “very bright to begin with” and that it has “interesting flavours in the finish”. We’re delighted to add this award for High Segovia to our growing list of accolades.
