New, Fully Recyclable Coffee Bags
At Dreambeans, our mission is to strive for a better future, ensuring that we still have a planet to share in the years to come.
In the coming weeks, you’ll notice a change in our packaging as we transition from our traditional brown paper Kraft bags to new black bags. This change goes beyond just appearance; it’s a carefully considered move to better align with our sustainability goals. We understand the importance of minimising our environmental impact, and this change is a significant step toward that objective. The new packaging not only helps reduce waste but also keeps our coffee as fresh and flavourful as ever.
Our coffee bags are designed to be sustainable through carbon compensation and innovative materials. By investing in CO2-reducing projects in coffee-growing regions, we offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated during the production of our bags. These efforts ensure that our packaging is carbon-neutral, benefiting both the environment and local communities. I did a post here before about how important one-way valves and good quality packaging were for keeping coffee fresh. These new valves will keep our coffee in tip-top condition for month after month.
C02 compensated coffee bags
The environmental, economic and social impact of climate change is enormous. Excessive emission of greenhouse gas contributes dramatically to climate change and coffee packaging is not an exception. We wanted to do what we can to help the situation.
What we’re doing in short
Our bag manufacturers invest in CO2-reducing projects in coffee growing countries, which means that the greenhouse gas emissions needed to produce coffee bags, can be completely compensated by reducing emission elsewhere. That way we balance out the effect production has on the planet. These projects also ensure that local communities benefit the most. This way we can help maximise sustainable development and improve health standards of even the poorest.
Sustainable coffee packaging
Sustainable packaging is an everyday topic. Dreambeans uses 100% plastic coffee bags without any metal, while maintaining an high oxygen barrier to keep coffee as fresh as possible. Since 2024 all our coffee bags are CO2 compensated. Over the past few years we’ve been working on finding the right high barrier mono-material pouches, fully made from PE.
The easiest way for us to make an impact was by starting to reduce our own ecological footprint. The bags we buy you can be sure all the carbon emitted in production is compensated in full. This means you can buy Dreambeans Coffee care-free, knowing the bag keeps your coffee perfectly fresh, looks great and has zero impact on carbon emission – without any extra cost.
