Why We’ve Retired Our “Collect” Coupon Code

Since we started selling coffee to home users, we have offered a special “Collect” coupon code that provided a 10% discount for those who chose to pick up their orders in person from our roast house on Coes Road, Dundalk.. Unfortunately, this code got posted on several discount code aggregating websites and customers were finding the discount code there and using it, even though they never intended to pick up their coffee. In any case, this was happening more and more and it became a big headache for our team, creating a lot of extra work and hassle. The problem was growing every month and it got to the point where there were about 4 times more incorrect codes being used than genuine codes.

We also knew that most of our customers used the code because they liked the idea of click & collect or they preferred to pick up the coffee when it suited them and it was never really about the discount, so we didn’t feel to bad about discontinuing it. Some of our customers tell us that the great advantage is that you can buy one bag or two bags of coffee without having to pay for shipping. Even though shipping is free for orders over €40, some people don’t use enough coffee to justify buying so much coffee at once.

What Happened?

• The “Collect” coupon code was designed to give a discount to customers who wanted to pick up coffee from our roast house in Dundalk.
• It offered a 10% discount to encourage its use because it helped us keep our shipping and packaging costs down.
• However, misuse of this coupon began to undermine its original purpose, and we had to reassess the discount system.

Our Response

• To maintain fairness for all customers, we have discontinued the “Collect” coupon code and the associated discount.
• Don’t worry—pickup is still available! We’ve introduced a Click and Collect option at checkout so you can still order online and pick up your freshly roasted coffee at the roast house on Coes Road Dundalk.

Moving Forward

• If you choose Click and Collect at checkout, you’ll pay the standard price and can avoid shipping fees on any order by picking up your order in person.
• As usual, you will have to wait for the “Your order is ready” email before you can pick it up
• We appreciate your continued loyalty and understanding.
